Once upon a time a quirky uncle of mine was considered the family photographer. I thought I could do better and save some grace in perpetuity. Vanity was a big motivator back then, but the allure of focus quickly followed

And a path to wonder—

Focus

: a subject that is being discussed or studied

: a main purpose or interest

:a point at which rays of light, heat, or sound meet or from which they move apart or appear     to move apart

:the point at which an image is formed by a mirror, a lens, etc.

Wonder

:to have interest in knowing or learning something

:to think about something with curiosity

: to feel surprise or amazement.

I wonder at the sublime in Renaissance art, the magic in Lartigue and the mysterious math behind pointillism and master Georges Seurat. The intrigue is like an embrace or a luxury. I invite  you to wonder. Perhaps meet complexity in the calm or greet silence amidst the noise---and embrace.

Luxury in a simple focus--

Gaile Proler is a photographer from Houston, Texas. She earned a degree from Rice University in Art History and Media Arts but considers travel the most influential educator. She currently works from Texas and California.
